Trekking Program 2007

Trekking dates are subject to change. Groups can request individually arranged treks on any routes at any time (season permitting).

 

May 20 to June 2: 14 days from Kullu to Bir (Daramshala) via the Lagh Valley

This is a pilot trek. The itinerary will be announced on request. We will trek on lower altitudes through forested area on little-used trails to the outer edge of the Himalayan Range. An easy trek for everyone.

 

June 17 to June 26: 10 days from the Kullu Valley to Lahaul and Chandra Tal (4100 m) via Hamta Pass (4400m)

Hamta Pass is an old shepherds’ way to cross from the Kullu-Valley which is Hindu-dominated into the Buddhist high altitude tribal region of Lahaul. A classic crossing that ends at the blue waters of Chandra Tal lake. A trek that can be done with good walking condition.

Day 1: Prini (2000 m) to Chikkha (3000 m) via Shetan

Day 2: Chikkha to Base (3400 m)

Day 3: Base over Hamta Pass (4400 m) to Base

Day 4: Base to Chatru (3900 m)

Day 5: Chatru to Chotadhara

Day 6: Chotadhara to Batal

Day 7: Batal to Chandra Tal (4100 m)

Day 8: Rest at Chandra Tal

Day 9: Chandra Tal to Batal)

Day 10: Transfer back to Naggar

 

July 8 to July 21: 14 days Mayar Valley (Lahaul, up to 5000 m )

This is a pilot trek. The itinerary will be announced on request. Starting Point is Udaipur (Trilok Nath) in Lahaul from where we’ll ascend the valley and possibly cross over the pass at its end… The trek requires good walking condition and some trekking experience.

 

 

August 19 to August 29: 11 days Shrikhand Mahadev (5200 m)

This little-known trek leads through a multitude of valleys until it ends on a high peak revered by Hindus. The trek requires good walking condition and some trekking experience.

Day 1: Transfer to Gaushani (Bhanjar Valley)

Day 2: Gaushani to Sarahan via Bashleo Pass (3800 m)

Day 3: Sarahan to Singahar

Day 4: Singahar to Chatru

Day 5: Chatru to Bimduar via Khalighati Pass (3900 m)

Day 6: Bimduar to Parbati Top

Day 7: Rest day Parbati Top, Climbing Shrikhand Mahadev (5200 m)

Day 8: Parbati Top to Chatru

Day 9: Chatru to Singahar

Day 11: Transfer Rampur to Naggar

 

September 10 to September 22: 13 days Bara Banghal (2500 m)

The trek crosses two high-altitude passes. Its main point is Bara Banghal, a remote village cut off from the rest of the world for most of the year by the high mountain ranges that surround it. This trek is for the experienced trekker in good form.

Day 1: Manali (2200 m) to Lamadug (3000 m)

Day 2: Lamadug to Gaddithatch (3200 m) via Khampari Pass (3900 m)

Day 3: Gaddithatch to Kalihan Base Camp (3900 m)

Day 4: Base to Jahl (3600 m) via Kalihan Pass (4660 m)

Day 5: Jhal to Lamaphar (3100 m)

Day 6: Lamaphar to Dalarimarie (3000 m)

Day 7: Dalarimarie to Bara Banghal (2500 m)

Day 8: Rest in Bara Banghal

Day 9: Bara Banghal to Thamsar Base Camp (3500 m)

Day 10: Base to Base (3600 m) via Thamsar Pass (4700 m)

Day 11: Base to Palatchok (2600 m)

Day 12: Palatchok to Bir (2100 m)

Day 13: Transfer to Naggar

 

October 2 to October 6: 5 days Rani Sui (3500 m)

Rani Sui is the queen’s needle, a little lake set on a high altitude pasture with superb views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. This is a comparatively easy trek that requires no experience but good walking condition.

Day 1: Manali (2200 m) to Lamadug (3000 m)

Day 2: Lamadug to Khampari (3400 m)

Day 3: Khampari to Rani Sui (3500 m) via Pass (3900 m)

Day 4: Rani Sui to Murg Thatch (2800 m)

Day 5: Murg Thatch to Khlat (1500 m) and Transfer to Naggar

 

Rates 2007

For groups of 5 people and more 40 Euro per day and person inclusive guide, cook, porters, sleeping tents, kitchen tent, dining tent and all meals.

For groups of 4 people and less the rate is 45 Euro per day and person.
