Dear friends,
Welcome to Spring! Here in the valley the rain
and snow has finally left us and we have loads
of sunshine and clear mountain views. Due to
the heavy winter many peaks are still snow-covered,
providing a dramatic backdrop to the cherry
blossom which has just set in these days.
The vegetable field is vibrating with activity
as there is daily planting and tilling going
on. We have quite a lot of plants already sprouting
in the greenhouse. Particularly many flowers
are starting to shoot and we will soon transfer
them to the various houses throughout the village.
Because of the strong winter the construction
work on the clinic has been delayed and we will
have to open it in stages. The treatment rooms
and the office have top priority at the moment
and we hope to have them completed by Mid-April.
The restaurant, however, is on track and will
open from next week with a set menu for visitors
and staff.

The amount of snow on the high mountain passes
also means that treks into certain areas will
be possible only later in the year. Especially
the tribal belt of Lahaul, Spiti and Ladakh
will open later than usual, probably only in
July. However, as there are so many trekking
options we will always find places where it
is safe to go to.
We also have the possibility of arranging camps
for groups up in the mountains. We will supply
material and the organization of food and camp-life
for people who want to focus on something specific
like yoga or meditation while staying in a remote

It looks like we will start English classes
in the village soon. Everybody who wants to
help is welcome.
On April 17 we have farmers connected with
us participating in a two-day-seminar on ecological
gardening. This program is organized by our
friend Ben. (www.anandaproject.org)
Official opening of the center will be on April
15, when most of the therapies will be available.
When the clinic comes finally fully into operation
in May we will organize a big opening party.
